Alton Towers, one of the world's most groundbreaking theme parks, is also one of the world's greatest. With the world's first vertical drop rollercoaster, Oblivion, the world's first flying rollercoaster, 'Air' and Europe's first inverted rollercoaster Nemisis, Alton Towers is certianly one of the best places to test your limits as you are pushed to the edge. Air- Defy gravity and experience what it feels like to float, swoop, soar, dive and leave the world behind as you're suspended in weightlessness above the earth. Oblivion - Feel your heart pound as you plummet 200 feet into a deep, dark underground abyss pulling 4.5G. It's steeper than skydiving and more brain-shredding than a bungee. Submission- Are you up or down? You'll lose all sense of balance on this double inverter. Don't fight it, this ride won't be satisfied until it has you screaming at the ground below.

There are many activities to do other than thrill-seeking with fun and laughter to be had right throughout the park. What Alton Towers guarantees is fun for all the family with rides and activities for all ages to enjoy - You'll be staggered at the amount on offer! It is so much more than just a theme park and has all the facilities for the pefect family weekend. Why not book a room in one of the lavishly styled hotels, play Golf on the Saturday and then spend all of Sunday testing your limits on the rides, and don't forget to stop off at the Waterpark!

Alton Towers offers so much besides the rollercoasters, with so much to do for the younger kids, like some of the things listed below.

Haunted Hollow- This sinister trail will take you on an eerie adventure through ancient and wild woodland where gothic tombstones come to life with the spine-tingling sound of cackling corpses and ghostly figures appear alongside headless statues. Tea-Cup Ride- This is one cuppa that will literally make your head spin as you swirl around teapots in your crazy china. Crank up the wheel at the centre of your cup to speed things up even more. Runaway Mine train- It's like being in the wild west on a speeding locomotive as you hurtle past ancient mine shafts, trees and rivers.

Two very popular attractions with younger children are still as strong as ever. The Peugoet 207 driving School and Charlie & the Chocolate Factory: The ride are experiences young children will enjoy.
